‘New Friends’ is plucked from Broken Fires’ upcoming EP, also called New Friends. It’s a charming piece of folky indie that talks of putting yourself out of your comfort zone. “Thinking back to that time when I moved to [London],” explains Tom from the band. “I met some people who talked a lot of shit and it took me a while to figure that out, and to figure out where I fit into things.” It’s a simple track but it certainly packs a punch with instantly memorable melodies and emotive, warm textures.
